Tzav

בס״ד

Tzav/Erev Pesach

And on the Mizbeach a fire must burn,

Every day without ceasing.

From morning to morning each Kohain in turn.

And the aroma to God should be pleasing.

This Pesach comes in with parshas Tzav,

And just like the Kohanim of old,

We sanctify ourselves for seven days,

By ensuring The Story is told.

Bring a korban, if you should err,

There’s no such thing as rejection.

Because God wants to guide you,

And keep close beside you,

And does not insist on perfection.

One needs a wise heart,

To build a Mishkan,

Motivated and Inspired, as well.

One must learn how to build,

With all manner of things,

To create space for HaShem to dwell.

There must be room in your heart,

To create from the world

Of gashmius and physicality,

A Makom Kodesh inside of yourself,

Because that will become your reality.

So when you learn Chumash, Navi, or Gemora,

Take time to wonder and ponder,

How you will use these Kelim Kedoshim,

To build your own Mishkan tomorra’.

And learn with your hands,

To build objects of wood,

And of wool, and of skin, and of metal,

Because Middos of Heart, and of Hand, and of Love,

Were all special gifts of Bezalel.

Ki Sisa

Ki Sisa

A census of the people,

HaShem said should be made,

But counting people is dangerous,

It could bring down a plague.

So we each gave Mechetzis HaShekel,

Each and every Jew,

To build the holy Mishkan,

So clean and sparkling new.

Then Moshe gets the luchos,

But he descends too late,

They build themselves an idol,

And say they could not wait.

I guess they didn’t get it,

That by building themselves an Egel,

They’re cutting off their options,

Just like a blueberry bagel.

This parsha shows tzedaka,

Can keep us from disease,

And patience is a virtue,

So don’t be hasty, please.
