Bereishis
The sixth day begins,
the sun sets in the west,
Adam opens his eyes,
he takes his first breath.
Before the next sunset,
he’ll name all creation,
be gifted with Chava,
succumb to temptation.
Exile from Eden,
a form of salvation,
endless life, without tshuva,
a sad situation.
Though the sun now grows dimmer,
though the winter is near,
though the ice may grow thick,
He’s still close, He is here.
